The best sommelier in the world by the Association of Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) in 2007, Andreas Larsson, has proclaimed RODA I 2007 of Bodegas RODA as ‘Best Wine of The World Rioja’ with 95 points out of 100, the highest of the classification.
In the words of Andreas Larsson, RODA I 2007 is ‘very good, in nose the aromas of the berries, plums and fine spices that are perfectly integrated with the wood. Rich and dense in mouth with a fine harmony with its tannins. A lingering, pure and powerful wine’. For Agustín Santolaya, General Manager of Bodegas RODA, ‘the wine world is so wide, full of hues and with so many great wines that is a real pride to draw the attention of such sophisticated palate like Andreas Larsson. To choose RODA I 2007 as his favourite makes us very proud because we have achieved our objective of bottling a landscape of a year as complex as 2007’.
RODA I 2007
It is elegant, delicate and good body that persist throughout the mouth without diminishing. Silky tannins and fine fruit aromas, forest and earth that remind a year of rainy spring and cold summer, with a good autumn able to sign one of the best Atlantic vintages that Bodegas RODA has produced. In the nose is very smooth and intense with the waves of Atlantic freshness typical of vintages from the high, westerly areas of La Rioja combined with aromas of red and black fruits, cherries and plums. We can perceive details of the fine and fresh spices and damp earth that remind of the minerals, the cocoa and the plums that are so typical of RODA I.
