RODA I 2007
It is elegant, delicate and good body that persist throughout the mouth without diminishing. Silky tannins and fine fruit aromas, forest and earth that remind a year of rainy spring and cold summer, with a good autumn able to sign one of the best Atlantic vintages that Bodegas RODA has produced. In the nose is very smooth and intense with the waves of Atlantic freshness typical of vintages from the high, westerly areas of La Rioja combined with aromas of red and black fruits, cherries and plums. We can perceive details of the fine and fresh spices and damp earth that remind of the minerals, the cocoa and the plums that are so typical of RODA I.
CORIMBO I 2010
It is made from goblet-trained tinta del país (tempranillo) vines that are more than 50 years old, grown on estates in La Horra (Burgos). They are cultivated with maximum respect for the environment, using no chemical fertilizers, herbicides for synthetic products. It stands out for being a marvellous vintage representative of a great harvest in Ribera del Duero. Aged 16 months on French and American oak, it is very intense and voluminous, yet elegant and refined on the nose. Blackberries and black plums are clearly identifiable against a background of pine underbrush and a deeply mineral note rounds off its aromatic profile. On the palate it is voluminous, ample and full bodied with the black fruit giving way to notes of aromatic underbrush and earthiness. CORIMBO I 2010 is a thrilling expression of the terroir of Ribera del Duero in a glass, the result of an incredible harvest.
