CLIMATIC CYCLE
The winter was very dry and warm, with unusually high temperatures and very little rainfall until April. Budburst came notably early, beginning at the end of March, although the frost on 19 April particularly affected some of the lower-lying vineyard areas.
Heavy rainfall arrived in May and June, with close to 160 mm recorded. The summer was moderately warm and dry, without major heatwaves, allowing for a more balanced and cooler growing cycle than the previous two vintages.
At the end of August and throughout September, abundant and frequent rainfall delayed ripening. Despite this, Haro and some areas of Rioja Alta were less affected by the torrential rains at the end of September. Throughout the growing cycle, a total of 594 mm of rainfall was recorded, 25% higher than in the 2023 vintage.
The harvest was very small, one of the lowest yields in recent years, marked by poor fruit set, the spring frost and disease pressure. The wines stand out for their freshness, elegance and very polished tannins, with an aromatic profile of ripe yet fresh fruit.

Nose:
It is intense, very fruity, with the profile of red fruits, in the range of well-ripened cherries. The wood is perfectly assembled, in SELA's aging, only used barrels are used.
In addition to the fruity sensation, which dominates the wine, spicy notes and even a certain mineral character appear that give it complexity.
It generates a very pleasant, thin, long and delicate set, surely with greater volume and structure than other vintages of SELA.
Palate:
Medium volume, very fruity, with the presence of the cherries described on the nose. With an excellent texture. There is freshness very wrapped by a velvety body. It leaves a pleasant fresh sensation of red fruit in the aftertaste that lasts a long time in the mouth.
It is a vintage very rich in details that have been reflected in this magnificent SELA.
