Irregular year that demanded an exhaustive selection. Very rainy and cold summer. Excessive vegetation. 574,7 mm. of precipitations in the vine-growing year. A good September and October.
Bush vines over 30 years old, yields limited to 1,5 kgs. per vine.
From the 30th of September to the 23rd of October.
In French oak vats, with controlled temperature.
In French oak barrels, 1/3 new, 1/3 second use and 1/3 more uses. 24 months in barrels and 12 months in bottles.
By natural methods, clarification using only egg whites, without filtration.
Good layer with a bright red background and a slight evolution in the edging.
Intense, complex and delicate. There is black fruit and also red with many details. The ripeness of the fruit is at the perfect point of seasoning. It is finely spiced, with floral details and at the same time it has notes of earth and cigar box. Always with the feeling of a forest in the background.
Medium volume, full of expressiveness, very delicate in the mouth, long and elegant.
The fruit is continuously present and always fresh. It is a wine with a Burgundian tendency and an Atlantic character.
Tasting held in Haro on December 14th, 2017
