The 2014 vintage was not easy. The experience in viticulture has a special value.
Spring was very dry and warm. Very good vegetative expression and phenological advance. June was a particularly rainy month. July was cold with some storms.
Mildew and oidium were present during the last part of the cycle. August was quite cool, with buoyant vegetation and good maturation. The first two weeks of September were extemely hot and dry, causing water stress. Harvest without rain, but complicated.
88% Tempranillo and 12% Graciano.
Bush vines over 30 years old, yields limited to 1,5 kgs per vine.
In French oak vats, with controlled temperature.
In 50% brand new and 50% second use, French oak barrels. 16 months in barrels and 20 months cellaring in bottle.
Completely natural methods, clarification using only egg whites.
Bottles of 50 cl, 75 cl, 1,5 l, 3 l and 6 l.
High layer, intense colour very well covered with picota cherry background and dark red edging.
Very intense with the sensation of black fruits and the profile of the plum.
It is a wine of great complexity in which fine woods appear very well assembled. Sweet spices that mix with different ranges of chocolate and tobacco.
In the background appears the earth and minerality perfectly assembled in a set of great harmony and freshness.
It has a silky touch, with very fine and polished tannins.
The sensation is of well-ripened black fruits, but with a lot of freshness. Some red notes enhance the cool character. It has good volume without being excessive.
Very friendly and long. It leaves different and complementary sensations with mineral and spicy backgrounds.
Elegant and sophisticated. It goes perfectly with elaborated dishes and with fatty fish.
