Irregular bud break. Very good conditions of rainfall and temperatures. 537,2 mm. of precipitations in the vine-growing year. Plenty rainfall and well distributed. Unblemished grape.
71% Tempranillo, 29% Garnacha.
Bush vines over 30 years old, yields limited to 1,5 kgs. per vine.
From the 3rd to the 23rd of October.
In French oak vats, with controlled temperature.
1/3 brand new, 1/3 second use and 1/3 more uses, French oak barrels. 24 months in barrels and 12 months in bottles.
Completely natural methods, clarification using only egg whites.
Medium layer, slightly less than 95, with a red background and orange rim.
Very intense with floral notes that stand out over the red fruit and notes of fine leather. The aromatic composition is very peculiar and complex. Very fresh, with a sensation of cherry.
Good volume, very expressive, the red fruit appears clearly and there are also notes of fine leather.
The tannin is delicately present.
It is a wine that has positively surprised me after not tasting it for a long time, although there are some notes of an animal character between the fruits and flowers that can make it somewhat more difficult than usual.
Tasting held in Haro on March 29, 2017
