
CLIMATIC CYCLE
The miraculous harvest.
Damp winter. 445,3 mm. of precipitations in the vine-growing year. Good bud break. Several storms in August, there was hail on the 2nd and 3rd of August.
Stormy rains and heat in September which caused some outbreaks of botrytis (September, 1 to 10). From the 11th of September until the end of the harvest was a dry and sunny weather with northerly winds that dried the outbreaks of botrytis.
The days were warm and the nights were fresh. The harvest changed radically.
Grape varieties:
81% Tempranillo, 14% Graciano, 5% Garnacha.
Vineyards:
Bush vines over 30 years old, yields limited to 1,5 kgs. per vine.
Grape harvest:
From the 28th of September to the 28th of October.
Fermentation:
In French oak vats, with controlled temperature.
Ageing:
In 50% brand new and 50% second use French oak barrels. 16 months in barrels and 20 months in bottles.
Stabilization:
Completely natural methods, clarification using only egg whites.
Alcohol:
14% Vol.
Packaging:
Cardboard cases of 6 bottles.
Formats:
Bottles of 37,5 cl., 50 cl., 75 cl., 1,5 l., 3 l. and 6 l.
Colour:
Medium-high robe, deep red background with blue hues.
Nose:
Very expressive red berries, with outstanding cherry notes and a background of wood. Sweet and fresh spices. A complex, fresh and comfortable nose.
Palate:
Medium-high volume, no valleys, very long, with a strong sensation of very fresh red berries. The tannins are fine and well assembled.
